NBA star Lonzo Ball was missed by his fans for the past few months. The Chicago Bulls guard had to be sidelined due to a knee injury.
Although his team and admirers have missed him and wondered when he’ll be back, there seems to be some good news in sight. Ball is going to return very soon and is expected to make his comeback during the Minnesota Timberwolves game.
He will witness a few roster changes, so he likely won’t be playing in the same point guard position he was in when he was sidelined.
Still, everyone is waiting to see his new style, and many have already placed their bets on sites like GGBet.
If you like Ball and want to bet in favor of the Chicago Bulls in the upcoming match, here’s all you need to know about Lonzo Ball’s return.
Lonzo Ball’s Knee Injury
The last time Ball played was in January 2022. Since then, he has been trying to recover from his knee issues. Due to problems with his left knee, Ball had to go through a cartilage transplant, as well as a bone allograft.
All of this came after he tore his meniscus in 2018.
“To make a long story short, ultimately, it started with the meniscus tear,” he said. “Basically, it started on the Lakers when I tore it the first time. I tore it a couple more times to a point where there was no more meniscus left, with bone-on-bone rubbing. So the cartilage was gone. The bone was messed up.”
It took 14 to 15 months for the player to find out what had been going on with his knee. He started and stopped multiple times after the first sidelining, but walking upstairs and jumping were painful activities for him.
But now, it’s time for him to return, and everyone is excited to see him back.
Lonzo Ball Is Finally Making His Return
After more than a year of waiting to return to the NBA, Lonzo Ball is finally in a much better condition and will soon make the awaited comeback. People think he will be back for the preseason game on Wednesday.
Things started to improve in the last few months, and the Bulls confirmed that he had started playing in 5-on-5 workouts in August.
In September, the executive vice president of basketball operations for Chicago said that the plan was to make sure Ball would be ready for Opening Night. According to him, Ball would’ve had to be brought up very slowly, and also go through camp. He expected it to take time. On the other hand, Ball said he is feeling good and healthy.
On October 11, Ball revealed on his podcast that he is going to be back in two of the last 3 preseason games for the Bulls. Everyone is excited for what’s to come.
Alex Caruso, a former team member, expressed his excitement on social media. He is happy to see Ball return, as he said in a conversation with K.C. Johnson.
“We share a lot of the same traits — the excitement, the ability to make smart plays, and create deflections,” Caruso said. “Plus, he’s deadly in transition. His stats are impressive… I’m confident that when he returns, we’ll recreate that electric dynamic and trouble our opponents once again.”
The following matches for the Bulls will be the following:
- Chicago Bulls vs Minnesota Timberwolves – October 16
- Chicago Bulls vs Cleveland Cavaliers – October 19
Be ready to watch the game and see if Lonzo Ball will be back. He’ll surely bring new forces as soon as he joins his teammates.
